More fun stuff. Basically an excuse to jam away on my guitar. These tracks are instrumental, riff based, with lots of bluesy soloing over the top. The idea behind these were to act as "hidden tracks" on the proper albums, but I enjoyed them so much I decided to leave them as standalone. If you like a bit of Hendrix guitar with a funky drum break and some get-down-and-boogie basslines, then these are the tunes for you. I do them when the mood takes me, and the songs have been recorded over the last two years or so.
If I was to play live again I'd love to play this kind of thing. Just get on stage and jam away. Obviously its harder to jam when you are just one person in a studio, and most of these tracks are built around a drum loop and basic riff idea which goes throughout the song. To me they sum up New York City on a humid day, steam rising from the ground and yellow taxis in gridlock. Don’t ask me why!
