It was time to upgrade to some new equipment. Therefore "Morning Light" became the first album I recorded using a PC and Cubase. Was nice to work with and meant I could get loads of songs recorded and turned into CDs really quickly.
Anyway, "Morning Light" is a good little album, not quite as dark and heavy as "Free Spirit" and full of nice little guitar moments. Lyrically the songs seem to mention 'morning' quite a lot so I figured it would be a good title (also comes from the song "Wait & See The Morning Light").
I started the album in 2002 with a guy called Paul Meehan at his home studio in Arklow. We did a few tracks, and "Spiritual Smile" was the only one from those sessions to make it on. The rest I did at home. Songwise, its got some of the best ones of this era, i.e. "I'll See You Tonight", "Summer Song", and "Hide The Waves". "Rock Star's Daughter" I actually wrote with Paul (he supplied the opening lines and I went from there) and tells an amusing story. He never did tell me if it was a true story but I made up my own anyway.
I listen to this one a lot as I find it relaxing and interesting enough to keep me happy years later.
